The Project At A Glance

Reproductive health is a component of sexual health that specifically relates to the reproductive system, including menstrual health, pregnancy, contraception, family planning, and STIs, ensuring the ability to reproduce safely and the freedom to decide if, when, and how often. Essentially, reproductive health deals with the function of the reproductive system. Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (ASRHR) is a crucial field focusing on the health needs and human rights of young people (typically ages 10-19) during their transition to adulthood, encompassing access to comprehensive sexuality education, contraception, safe abortion, STI prevention (including HIV), and protection from violence, ensuring they can make informed decisions about their bodies and futures free from coercion, discrimination, and infection, leading to better overall well-being and societal development.
